A tradition unlike any other, the annual Master’s Tournament, while completely unconnected Shigeyuki Mitsui design indulges in a palette ready to strike the green. The GEL-LYTE lll OG is reimagined with a range of features found on the golf course. Seen in a mixture of short and long-haired suede across its upper. Pigskin nubuck underlays symbolize the smooth rolling topography of the fairway, while a shaggier suede on the overlays represents the first cut around the perimeter, representing the fairway on a golf course. Additionally, the collar, eyelets, and window on the toe cap accents are rendered with yellow hues that mirror the flag pins. For branding we see classic Asics logo print on the white Gel cushioned foam midsole signifies the classic uniforms that a caddie wears, and on the heel with the latter featuring red accents. The outsole tone mirrors the look of the fine sand from the bunkers. Finally, we see the top-down view of a golf course’s architecture printed on the insole which drives home the golf connection.
